Our principal aims are: * to maintain and develop a stable and effective land registration system throughout England and Wales * to guarantee title to registered estates and interests in land for the whole of England and Wales * to provide ready access to up-to-date and guaranteed land information so enabling confident dealings in property and security of title * to achieve progressively improving performance targets set by the Lord Chancellor. The massive task of computerising almost 18 million titles was completed in 2002 and all registered titles are now fully computerised. This has enabled us to improve even further our service to customers. Access to the register by telephone and fax is available to our account customers. Our Land Register Online website enables members of the public to download copies of title information for a small fee, payable by credit or debit card. In addition, we are now offering on-line access to the register through Land Registry Direct.
