Shropshire and its surrounding counties are famous for producing quality stock and auctions attract vendors and buyers from a vast area. Up to 4,500 head come under Nick Champion’s hammer at each sale. What’s on offer? Mainly Suffolk and Continental cross store lambs Breeding ewes, particularly North Country and Welsh mules Grazing and cull ewes Rams Dispersal Sales From a spade to a combine harvester, and livestock to a steam engine, dispersal sales involve just about any item you would expect to find at a farm or country estate – and some you would not expect to find. Dispersals involve plant (diggers, excavators etc), farm machinery, hand tools, and all domestic goods Produce Sales Produce sales provide an efficient way for farmers to trade straw, hay, silage and fodder beet from the soil to the customer. July – join us in the pub for our annual auction of standing straw, sold as it falls behind the combine. Up to 1,000 acres come under the hammer November and February – come back to the pub to buy hay, straw and silage in the bale, and fodder beet in the clamp
