Wallets Marts have been marketing livestock in the Stewartry since 1856 and have occupied their present 10 acre site since 1888. The present Company was formed in 1996 and currently lease the mart site from Wallets Marts Plc. The mart itself has been extensively modernised over the years and is recognised as the premier marketing centre within South West Scotland. Wallets business covers a wide range of services whilst retaining live auctions as its core business. We have a deadweight marketing division trading as Galloway Primestock and a highly successful Land Agency business which trades as Wallets Rural Property Services. Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited are official auctioneers to the Luing Cattle Society, the Galloway Cattle Society, the Belted Galloway Cattle Society, the Salers Cattle Society and the Bluefaced Leicester Sheep Association. PRIME AND STORE SHEEP We are currently holding weekly sales of all classes of prime sheep every Tuesday. These sales are proving popular, attracting between 1200-1500 sheep every week. GALLOWAY PRIMESTOCK Our deadweight procurement division continues to supply a wide and varied range of abattoirs and outlets throughout the country with quality stock from within our region. WALLETS RURAL PROPERTY SERVICES Our Land Agency division has once again provided an extremely valuable contribution to our business. Wallets Rural Property Services are actively involved in the management of several sporting estates throughout Scotland and Northern England and can arrange fishing, shooting, stalking throughout Dumfries and Galloway and further afield.
