Tayler & Fletcher was established in the 1700s as ‘Keck & Son’ and the firm’s earliest recorded auction was the sale of the furniture and effects of a Mr T Fletcher (no relation) at Woeful Lake Farm, Sherborne, near Bourton-on-the-Water. This was conducted  by a Mr T Acock in 1807. A century later, the names ‘Tayler’ and ‘Fletcher’ appeared on the letterhead as they do to this day, pausing briefly in 1926 when the firm was known as ‘Tayler, Fletcher & Villar’.
