Dore and Rees
An average auction day will see between 500 & 600 lots passing under the hammer, and plenty of interest from the buyers and sellers who like to fill the saleroom, can produce a good deal of excitement.
Throughout the auction days a steady stream of interested parties can be seen moving in and out of the saleroom. They are checking which lots are coming up, to ensure that they are there for the lot(s) in which they have most interest. Dore and Rees produce an "Auction Catalogue" that is available on the day (Cost £2.00). With all items allocated a lot number, buyers and sellers can gauge when their lots will be put before the hammer. Mark is delighted to provide free verbal appraisals on items which are brought to the salerooms for inspection. Refreshments are available on auction days. The Dore & Rees Salerooms are situated in one of the older parts of Frome, and visitors will appreciate the view over the town from the salerooms. The salerooms are surrounded by a good selection of equally attractive period buildings. Visitors will be particularly pleased to see that there are two car parks nearby providing parking within a short walk of the venue. There is a small car park opposite the sale room that allows clients to pay and display for periods throughout the day. There are other pay and display car parks within reasonable walking distance of the salerooms. Whilst waiting for their lots to come under the hammer, visitors can wander around the town facilities and enjoy the variety of shops and services. The market town of Frome plays host to a wide and interesting range of period and listed buildings. The town has it's own heritage trail which you can join within a few yards of the Dore and Rees salerooms.
